Taunton Youth Culture & Arts Festival 2020
TYCA, in collaboration with Richard Huish Popular Music Course, bring you a showcase of young talent. Everything from acoustic solos to bands, covering an array of styles from indie, folk, pop, rock and jazz. Please join us this evening to spot the future acclaimed artists of tomorrow.
Cam Chilcott – Solo singer/songwriter guitarist
I’m a 17 year old singer songwriter who’s always preferred to play his guitar over his x-box. I’ve written a handful of originals and love playing covers to some of my faves by Lewis Capaldi, James Arthur, Sam Smith and Dean Lewis
🎵 While I have owned an electric guitar in the past, my style is based around an acoustic guitar in the pop genre😁.
I was given a guitar as a gift when I was 8 years old. My parents set me up with a couple guitar lessons in year 4 in school where I strummed my first chord and immediately fell in love with music 🥰🎧.
My parents also set me up with singing lessons at the start of 2020 🎤 which is where I got the opportunity to play my first gig. I had a half hour set which I was incredibly nervous about, but as soon as I started performing, I loved it ❤️and knew it was what I wanted to with my life.
Albert Hacker, vocals and guitar
I am a vocalist and guitarist who does both covers and originals.
I am 16 years of age and I have been singing all my life. I am a self taught guitarist and I have been playing for the last 2 years roughly.
I take inspiration from many artists such as Harry Styles and Niall Horan.

saferinthecity
saferinthecity is the artist project of 17 year old singer-songwriter and producer, Harry Paynter.
Inspired by the likes of Nina Nesbitt and The 1975, saferinthecity's most recent single "Movie Scene", expands on the dream-pop electronica sound that has always driven his story-telling lyrics.
Lyrically, his songs draw inspiration from a range of subject matter, which include Harry's experience of being an identical twin and his take on the implications of growing up as part of the "social media" generation.
Redhead & the Reprobates
Redhead & the Reprobates are an upcoming indie/jazz college band from Taunton, Somerset.
They formed at the beginning of October 2019, and have already began writing their own music material and original songs and are soon releasing an EP.
They have since performed an array of live gigs consisting of covers, the bands original material and lead singer, Chloe Grinter’s most recent single, “Everything’s a Lie,” which is out now on all music platforms.
Combining the edgier indie-rock of The Wombats and Two Door Cinema Club and the bluesy jazz tones of Nina Simone and Etta James, Redhead & the Reprobates have created their own signature sound which they have adapted and mutated over time to what fans love today. Their bubbly personas and energetic music is something you wouldn't want to miss.
