Arts Taunton have delivered Taunton Youth Culture and Arts (TYCA) Festival since 2019
We provide opportunities for young people in the Taunton area (5-25) to engage with the arts from the point of first exploration right through to professional practice.
Our Youth Board of 15 amazing local young people oversees everything we do. We empower young people to create original work across a huge range of artforms, receive mentorship from professionals and present at festival events.
We always prioritise the process over the outcome - the journey matters more than the destination. We deliver workshops and 1-2-1 sessions in schools, colleges, PRUs, youth centres and outdoor public spaces. We work with the full spectrum of young people but concentrate our resources towards those who would otherwise have the least access to professionally-led arts.
