Tacchi Morris
We are a multipurpose arts centre providing arts activities for the whole community. A busy programme combines theatre, dance and music, a range of community classes, and a host of visual art exhibitions. Working with Heathfield Community School and The SPACE, we aim to be a centre of excellence in the Performing Arts in Education and believe working with Arts Taunton for Tyca is the perfect partnership to further this goal.
Taunton Children’s Orchestra
Established in 2007, Taunton Children’s Orchestra is an award-winning chamber symphony orchestra, made up of instrumentalists aged from 8 – 18 from the local area, and further afield in Somerset.
We are delighted to be a part of TYCA festival, and look forward to inspiring more young orchestral players to come and join in the fun and friendship of music-making together.
Somerset Art Gallery Trust (SAGT)
The Trust seeks to help Somerset have a dedicated art gallery, and to do so in partnership with art and other organisations near and far. Our members include art lovers and artists but not enough young people. The young are central to our belief that the visual arts are for all to enjoy and access freely, and we hope our collaboration with Arts Taunton and Tyca will encourage more young people to enjoy the visual arts.
Richard Huish College
Richard Huish College is delighted to partner with the Tyca Festival. Making a positive impact on those around us is at the heart of the Huish ethos and one of our core values. The Tyca festival offers young people across our community the chance to participate in high-quality arts provision. There is a growing number of Richard Huish Schools in the Taunton community so we are particularly pleased to be connected with this Festival
Fuse
Fuse is a Somerset outdoor arts organisation which creates and produces Somerfest, arts projects and other events in Taunton. The company commissions new work and engages with a wide range of communities and has established a creative youth hub in Taunton called Streetlinkz Creative Youth. We are delighted to be involved in the Youth Arts Festival organised by Arts Taunton to showcase local talent.
Centre for Young Musicians Taunton
Centre for Young Musicians Taunton (CYMT) is a division of Guildhall School of Music & Drama. We are open to all committed young musicians aged 5–18. Based at Richard Huish College, Taunton, students attend on Saturdays for a sustained programme of weekly training. There is a wide variety of ensembles including orchestra and bands, singing, instrumental lessons, music production, history of music, theory of music and aural classes. All classes are taught by a high-quality team of dedicated and enthusiastic tutors. Students can perform regularly in any musical style, and the centre supports all students with a friendly, welcoming atmosphere. CYMT is partnering with Arts Taunton for the tyca Festival because collaboration is exciting and vital for the arts to blossom and thrive in our community.
Somerset Art Works
Somerset Art Works is a registered charity and membership organisation. We are Somerset’s only county-wide agency dedicated to developing the visual arts.
We want Somerset to be a place where people expect to engage with excellent visual art that is surprising and distinctive. We initiate a wide range of projects in a variety of settings, working in partnership with other arts and non-arts organisations. We support the artists who enrich our lives and work to increase public engagement, weaving together communities and raising the profile of the vibrant contemporary visual, digital and applied arts scene in Somerset.
Go Create
Go Create CiC – seeking, encouraging and promoting creativity…
Go Create has been engaging with thousands of people in Taunton for almost five years, enriching their lives through the Arts.
Our aims are to provide a support network for emerging and established artists in the Somerset West and Taunton area, to promote our members’ interests and gain exposure for them. We aim to celebrate and raise awareness of creativity in all its genres and to collaborate with other arts groups and organisations, so supporting and being partners with Arts Taunton’s Youth Festival is a natural thing
The Wildlife Trusts Somerset
Somerset Wildlife Trust has been protecting vulnerable wildlife and preserving Somerset’s wild places for over 50 years. We believe that showcasing the wonders and benefits of the natural world is fundamental to supporting nature’s recovery. We are pleased to be a partner in the Tyca Festival – the arts are a powerful tool to communicate the beauty and importance of nature and inspire people to value and protect it.
The Brewhouse
Our mission is to encourage, facilitate and promote excellent arts and cultural activity to enrich the lives of those living, working and visiting Taunton and position the County Town as the cultural hub of Somerset. We are passionate about delivering a dynamic and varied programme of exceptional professional and community productions, events and activities. By doing this we encourage our surrounding communities to participate in the arts, to enhance well-being, creativity and cohesion. Nurturing the talent, curiosity and creativity of young people in Taunton is at the heart of our mission and we hope the workshop we offer, as part of the Taunton Youth Arts Festival, will give us the opportunity to engage with a wider network of young people and promote lifelong engagement in the arts.
