Are you a young musician with a passion for making music with others?

Have you wondered what it’s like to bring a brand new piece of specially composed music to the stage? 
Or do you wonder what it's like to work with a real life composer - a composer who is an Oscar winner, no less, and playing alongside some of the country’s finest professional musicians? 
Then now, now is your chance…

TYCA is thrilled to announce a fantastic opportunity to work with the young British, Oscar winning composer, JJ Hathaway and members of one of the UK’s finest chamber orchestras (and local residents who are based right here in Taunton), Southern Sinfonia and their dynamic Artistic Director, the Conductor Simon Chalk.
A brand new piece of music has been created by JJ especially for this project which will see members of Southern Sinfonia working in collaboration with young musicians from the southwest in a series of workshops, working on this new composition and culminating in a performance at the Brewhouse, Taunton as part of this year’s TYCA Festival. Could you be one of the young collaborators?
We need players of all orchestral instruments, of all standards, from beginners to those who are taking their first tentative steps on their musical careers.
Musicians must be aged between 11-25yrs and available on the 4th June for the workshops and on the 10th June for the live performance, which will take place in the Brewhouse Theatre in Taunton.
If your instrument isn’t considered to be a ’traditional’ orchestral one, don’t worry as we have a place for you too. Please, please come and join us for this remarkable opportunity which is delivered free by TYCA
