Young Taunton based composer Josh Hathaway, seized the opportunity to create a specially commissioned film and music score for Tyca 2020.

Biography

Joshua Hathaway, (b.1998) is an English composer. He is also a clarinetist and pianist studying composition at the Guildhall School of Music and Drama. His compositions stem from his improvisatory playing and immersion in nature. His music has been performed at various venues in the UK and abroad, including The Barbican, Milton Court, St David’s Hall, The OXO Tower, Southbank, Łódź Concert Hall in Poland, Silk Street Concert Hall and the Dora Stoutzker Hall.
Recently, Joshua was commissioned by the illuminated river foundation to write a large orchestral piece titled Increscent, which premiered on the river Thames in the unveiling of the project with Sadiq Khan. It was also recorded in the Barbican for a studio album and use in installations, streaming and Channel 4, ITN Productions. Illuminated River is an ambitious, new public art commission which will transform the capital at night, lighting up to 15 bridges on the River Thames. Once complete, it will be the longest public art project in the world, seen over 130 million times each year.
